Everything that is being done as to-do checklists will eventually become routine and tire us and maybe at some point might say, whats the point of all of these?
Maybe most especially, if we think we’ve done enough and we feel unseen. And when things gets awry, we all have the tendency to question God. Im attending the Mass, pray, loves You, and this? Is this the prize of following You? You said abundance, and have a life, but see my life, far from having one.
This is very common right? Some turn away to Church, we say, ugh! enough God, we think we can by-pass Him and we can be our own “gods”, some join different denominations but the most painful of all is to deny God, as if God owes us, see how ungrateful we’ve become.
I can tell you who my God is, how good He is, faithful, sweet, loving, tender, overwhelming and that He never fails, I can tell you all those 24/7. But still, its up-to you to receive Him.
I am saddened by how people who knows Him, experiences His goodness, love and mercy and yet not respond to Him.
When Im sharing my testimony, I can feel that they got The Holy Spirit but not delve in Him.
Its painful, really hard, but the Lord God, who is ever good keeps on reminding me, you were once like that, remember how I showed you mercy, you still fall short, you, who experienced my mercy.
And that puts me to shame, everytime Jesus corrects me, full of love and utmost tenderness, so much so that it makes me burst to tears, it overwhelms me of how huge He is and how undeserving I am, and yet He still gives and loves.
So I say, keep your relationship with Him personal, like He is your friend, father, brother, He is never far, our misconception that He is out of reach, the irony of His Lordship is that He is always near, never far, we as servants on the contrary are the ones always away from its Master.
It’s hard to have a relationship to anyone whom one does not know right?
Say a man to find a woman, for him to be able to say “i’ll spend my life with her”, he needs to know her, spending time with her, talking to her, he MUST make an EFFORT to know her, right? Thats how it works.
So, Im going to introduce you to my Master, King, Savior and God, some knows Him very well, we always call on Him, but He is mostly known to be our 911, we always say Oh, I know Him, He is Jesus. But do we really know Him?
Roughly about 2 years ago, someone asked me, who is Jesus? I was almost speechless, but I have to answer so I gave the most cliché answer one could have (though true), He is the Son of God, but deep down, I know, I could have done better, I felt guilty, I was not able to give a good answer.
By Gods grace, now if you’d ask me who Jesus is 24hrs will never be enough no words can fully articulate who He is.
Seek Him with all your heart, and He will show up, speak to Him as if you’re speaking to a visible person, find time to know Him through prayer and scriptures, start with New Testament, you will see that He is LOVE.
And when you do, the 10 commandments will not be commands but an act of LOVE.
Confession as an act of wanting to make things right, that you are sorry for your sins.
Going to mass wont be an obligation but “the gathering place” to meet and receive your friend/lover.
Praying will not be a routine but your communication with a friend, its as if texting/calling your friend how’d your day been.
Blessings are now a gift you got ahead of your birthday.
Circumstances are no more coincidence but all are provided for your good.
Sufferings are not punishment but refining your character so that you’ll be who you are supposed to be.
Heart, full of gratitude, to The Blessed Virgin for She is the vessel of the humiliation of Jesus by becoming God-made-Man.
Being friends with the Saints.
Loving your neighbor knowing that Christ is in each of them.
And most off, standing up and sticking with the Church, for its the bride of Jesus.
That the Church is not about the priests, nuns, lays but its about Jesus, the head of the Church and we are its body.
Jesus whom though our God, we opt to neglect, oh its okay, He will understand, don’t we?
And YET,
No matter how ungrateful we all are, how grave a sinner we all are, He still loves and will always Love, waiting for us to love Him back.
Yes, He waits, He does not lure nor forces us. Ahhh! The goodness of You!
Ask Him the grace to melt our hearts and may it be open to Him and may He dwell in us. Never be afraid, He will do no harm, He who gave His very own on the cross for you, always inviting you to come and see.
