To The Father
"As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17
How happy and proud, God the Father must have been, I imagine Him sitting from His throne and Jesus, the greatest man ever, made His Father stand and opened the heavens! And claimed Him, thats my Son.
Remember when we were still kids, when you excelled at School? How comforting it is, when your Teacher congratulates your parents, and your Father claims you, thats my daughter.
The feeling of belonging warms our hearts, whenever we do the Fathers will, He does that to us, claiming us to be His own, His beloved. For everything that is good is of Him, and everything that is not, is not of Him.
Nothing is missed in our Fathers eyes, even a strand of our hair, is important to Him, nothing is ever small. Even if, in our own understanding, it does not matter, in Him, everything does! Everything!
To Jesus
“Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John refused Him, saying, “I ought to be baptized by you, and yet you come to me?” Jesus replied, “Permit this for now; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all justice.” Then He allowed it.” Matthew 3:13-15
The Humility of You! You, who are God, does not need to be baptized, and yet, insists to be baptized.
You, never came to be served but to serve. How humbling Your love for me is, You did not stop from being God-Man, from your birth in a manger, where the animals were, to your humble small hometown and a carpenters Son.
You don’t have to, but You chose to. The God-made-Man showed us how its done, indeed, He is the truth, the way and the life.
He made sure, that I wont go as far as He did, for He knows, I cannot endure it. He keeps on reminding me time and time again that, whatever I’ve been or will ever go through, that He’s already there, ahead of me, with me and behind me.
