The Long awaited promise, made manifest: Because She said YES

We hear it a lot, we see it a lot, "I said, Yes, "she said, Yes", there's something on that "yes" isn't it? We rejoice over it, when our friends breaks the news, there's this joy, it's like a reflex it's something we automatically celebrate, instantaneously congratulations flooding.

Today is the feast day of The Annunciation, I don't know if it's right to have favorites, but my heart is ablaze with it. We celebrate the faithfulness of God the Father for His promise (Genesis 3:15) for our redemption since the fall (Genesis 3:6-7). Israel waited thousands of years for the promise, they anticipated from generations to generations through steadfast praying and fasting for the Messiah.

I love the Angelus, it's a shortcut to the narrative of the Incarnation. "The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary and She conceived by the power of The Holy Spirit" (Luke 1: 26-37) . Here in this event is the realization of the promise, the hour has come for the "word" (Jesus) is about to become flesh.

"Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it done unto me, according to thy word"(Luke 1:38). This YES, is the very reason we Catholic venerates the Blessed Virgin Mary, for whom, sadly most of the Christians hate.

Without her yes my fellow Christians, our beloved Lord Jesus Christ, won't be in flesh. One time, as I was meditating on the Joyful Mysteries, I had imagined God and all the angels anticipated for this moment, were they all excited? (I will keep this question by Gods love and mercy, really hoping its His face I will see)

It's the Blessed Virgin's yes to God The Father that this "word" made flesh, of-course it is all willed by The Father, but may we not forget, we all have free-will, the Blessed Virgin could have said no, come to think about it if- she could have said NO. But the Blessed Virgin said YES and crushed the head of the serpent, playing a very vital role in our salvation.

I really don't understand, why some who proclaims to love Jesus but hates His Mother, there's a really great problem with that. Who among you have friends and hates their Mom, will your friend be happy that you call him friend but hates his Mom? I don't think so.

Lets take a moment to pause and place ourselves on the shoe of the Blessed Virgin, what would a 14 year old you engaged then an angel appears and tells you, you are to bear a son, what would a 14 year old you will do?

This shows us clearly how our relationship with The Father should look like, we all have our mission in this life, we are all part of one body, therefore each one of us, we all partake in its mystery, we are loved, known and a necessity. May we be able to ask Gods grace for us to respond like the Blessed Virgin.

To say "YES" to what is being asked, by saying yes that means denying ourselves, abandoning of what we want or thought we should be to what God wants us to be. And we rest that, He is a very good Father, who only wills the BEST for us, DIVINE BEST, not our limited human best.

By saying NO to ourselves, we're saying YES to greater things (John 12:25-26). May the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55) of our Blessed Virgin resonate in our soul and every word of it may be our reality in giving praise to God.
